The Dog Stop® Scottsdale is getting ready to welcome Scottsdale-area dogs and their families with our grand opening in Fall 2026!

Conveniently located near the intersection of Shea Boulevard and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, our location will proudly serve pet parents throughout Scottsdale and Fountain Hills.

The Dog Stop® Scottsdale will offer a convenient, full-service experience with dog daycare, boarding, grooming, and training all under one roof. Our facility will feature three playrooms designed for dogs of all sizes, along with a dedicated VIP (Very Independent Player) yard and an outdoor yard.

Whether your dog is a social butterfly who loves to play, a pup who prefers a little more independence, or simply needs a comfortable place to relax while you’re away, our goal is to create an environment where every dog can feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

As we prepare to open our doors, we’re excited to become a trusted part of the Scottsdale and Fountain Hills pet community and give local dog parents a place they can truly count on.

About the Owner

Jonah

Jonah Mars is the owner of The Dog Stop® Scottsdale and brings a lifelong love of animals, a background in finance, and a passion for building something meaningful to his new venture.

Originally from New York City, Jonah grew up surrounded by dogs and other pets. He graduated from Colorado College in 2015 with a degree in Economics and a minor in Music before moving to Arizona in 2018. He later earned his MBA from Arizona State University in
2022.

Jonah spent much of his professional career working in accounting and finance, most recently in fund accounting for a renewable energy company in Scottsdale. In October 2024, he stepped away from his accounting career to pursue his dream of owning and operating The Dog Stop® Scottsdale.

Although Jonah currently shares his home with two cats, his love for dogs remains strong—and he hopes to add a canine companion to the family in the future.

Outside of The Dog Stop®, Jonah enjoys traveling, music, sports, and spending time outdoors.

He is also an accomplished pianist who performs at events including weddings, birthday
celebrations, and cocktail parties.

For Jonah, The Dog Stop® Scottsdale represents an opportunity to combine his entrepreneurial goals with his lifelong love of animals and create a place where Scottsdale-area dogs can receive exceptional care.

We look forward to becoming part of the Scottsdale community and earning the trust of local pet parents one happy pup at a time.

Community Engagement & Involvement

Giving back to animals in need is already an important part of the The Dog Stop® Scottsdale story.

Owner Jonah Mars has volunteered with the Arizona Humane Society for the past year, helping shelter dogs get out of their kennels for walks and field trips. These experiences give dogs opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and positive interactions while they wait for their forever homes.

As The Dog Stop® Scottsdale grows, Jonah looks forward to finding additional ways to support local animal welfare organizations and become an active part of the Scottsdale and Fountain Hills communities.

For us, being a local dog care business is about more than caring for the dogs who walk through our doors. It’s about showing up for the dogs—and the people—who call this community home.
